Call for Papers

International Conference on Digital Applications, Transformation, and Economy (ICDATE) 2023 is co-organized between Curtin University Malaysia and University of Technology Sarawak in collaboration with IEEE Malaysia Section Signal Processing Society for the presentation of new advances and research results, under the theme of Digital World for Sustainable Future. We invite you to attend ICDATE 2023 which will be held in Miri, Malaysia from 14th to 16th July, 2023. The conference will be hosted physically which expects to bring together international participation of leading researchers, engineers, and scientists.

The thriving city of Miri, where the venue is located is the perfect vantage point from which to take it all in. A prosperous and cosmopolitan hub, Miri is second largest city in Sarawak and the main tourist gateway for Borneo’s crown jewels: The wrecks and reefs of the Miri-Sibuti Coral Reef National Park, and the UNESCO World Heritage site at Gunung Mulu National Park.

The conference will concentrate on eight major themes that will contribute to a sustainable digital future. We also invite submissions on other topics pertinent to the objectives of the conference.

Topics of interest for submission include, but are not limited to:

  • Track 1: Digital Technology (AI, Big Data, Blockchain)

    This track covers original research that explicitly addresses the impact of digital technologies such as AI, big data and blockchain to the digital world’s sustainable future.

  • Track 2: SmartTech, FinTech, EdTech

    This track invites submission on all topics related to smart technologies, smart grid and electrical power applications and analysis, finance technologies and educational technologies including designs and applications, opportunities and challenges, factors leading to the adoption of technologies and others.

  • Track 3: Digital Transformation (Digital Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing)

    This track aims to discover the sustainability impact of digital transformation on digital economy, entrepreneurship and marketing. The topics may include, but are not limited to opportunities and challenges, consumer attitude and intention.

  • Track 4: Digital Services, E-Government, E-Governance

    This track encompasses all e-government and e-governance-related issues such as theories, frameworks, strategies, policies of digital governments.

  • Track 5: Digital Tourism

    The purpose of this track is to discuss, share, and expand knowledge regarding the usage and effect of information and communications technology (ICT) in the travel and tourism industry.

  • Track 6: Cyber Security

    This track seeks submissions on topics such as, but not limited to, new technologies in cyber security, hidden cyber security vulnerabilities, and cyber security challenges faced in today's digital environment.

  • Track 7: Digital Media and Communication

    Authors are invited to contribute subjects pertinent to the contemporary digital media and communication issues such as corporate communications, media and advertising, public relations and policy development.

  • Track 8: Digital Applications in Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering

    This track discusses on digitalization in chemical engineering and bio-manufacturing operations. The track covers opportunities and challenges to apply digital technologies in both chemical and bioprocess engineering, amongst others.

Publication

Accepted and presented papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements.

Submission Guidelines

The manuscript should be formatted in IEEE style format. The camera-ready version for an accepted paper should not exceed 5 pages. Manuscripts that exceed 5 pages will incur mandatory over length page charges (maximum 2 extra pages).

Registration

Registration is valid for only one author of each accepted paper. Author with more than one accepted paper will be charged USD 80 (early bird)/ USD 120 (normal) for each additional paper. Each paper is no more than 5 pages without any additional cost. Additional page (maximum 2 pages) will be charged USD 25 per page.

Non-refundable Early Bird rates will apply to registrations until TBC. Non-refundable Normal rates will apply from TBC through TBC.

The paper must be presented by the registered author of the paper during the conference unless the ICDATE committee grants permission in advance of the event for a substitute presenter, who is qualified both to present and answer questions. The committee reserves the right to preclude authors who do not present their paper at the conference from having their papers published in the conference proceedings.

We also welcome non-presenting participants for our conference. Non-presenting participant is an attendee that does not present a paper, but attends sessions and workshops. For non-presenting participants the fee would be USD 120.

Registration and payments under the following categories (IEEE Member, IEEE Student Member, Non IEEE Member, Student Non IEEE Member and Additional Paper) should be made after the paper acceptance. Non-presenting participants are free to register and make payments at any time.

Call for Reviewers

Reviewers play a significant role to withstand the quality of the conference. We would appreciate your support as a reviewer to represent our principle in evaluating the papers submitted for ICDATE. The advice and guidance from reviewers are invaluable assets to our conferences and authors. All accepted and contributed reviewers will be given a certificate of recognition towards their valuable contribution.
